A young man in search of fortune and adventure lands a job on a commercial fishing boat in the middle of the Bering Sea. As he overcomes dire circumstances in this volatile and cut-throat environment, he becomes obsessed with the fortune he gains. His life becomes centered on making more and more money, to the exclusion of friends and family. It’s not until a near death experience that John begins to question whether the values he has embraced will ultimately bring him happiness.

Biography

John Cox grew up in Pontiac, Michigan before moving to Los Angeles at the age of thirteen.

He joined the military after graduating from high school and qualified as an Army Airborne Ranger in 1991.

After his service was done, John traveled to Dutch Harbor, Alaska and worked as a commercial fisherman in the Bering Sea for three years, earning an Able-Bodied Seaman's license along the way.

John moved back to L.A. to pursue his education and soon discovered a passion for acting. He has studied with Larry Moss and is a graduate of the South Coast Repertory Acting Intensive Program. He was inspired by Larry Moss to write his own story, a process that has taken him over five years to complete.

John has been a member of the I.L.W.U. (longshoreman's union) for fifteen years, working at the ports of L.A./Long Beach, where his main job is driving cranes.
